News Board

We are excited to announce the SECOND year of the tournament on Decker Lake here in central Texas. We feel it's our responsibility to do our part in supporting this lake in the ways we can by getting anglers out there and fishing this lake as much as possible. We really would like to see this lake around for years to come. The anglers that fish this lake have been fighting tooth and nail to keep it alive as long as possible, and it has been a struggle to say the least. Our response to this is to join the fight and bring a friendly tournament for all anglers alike to fish and enjoy just getting out there and having fun. We are setting this tournament up to get back to the roots of fishing and focus on getting involved with saving this lake for our children and their children as well. This tournament will have a payout of course, but will not be designed around this alone. We are going out to push the experience that can come from fishing on Decker lake.

Come out and join the fight, fish, and friends to show Texas we not only know how to fight a fish but we know how to fight FOR the fish.

Sign up is out of the lake the day of the event. Entry fee for the winners payout is $50.00.  This will guarantee you a spot in the event for the day.

($10 of this will go to the big bass pot.)

(Note that you are not required to pay anything but will not be included in the payouts)

All anglers MUST check-in with tournament staff prior to take off to receive rules and measurement instructions.

The tournament is every week on Sunday morning. (unless gates are closed)

We will launch at SAFE LIGHT and all boats will need to have their fish submitted by 12:00 am at the docks.

This tournament will be a team digital weigh in.

Upon paying your entry fee you will receive a hawg trough to measure your fish and a token with your number attached. The token you receive will need to be placed in the pictures you plan to use for verification.

After receiving your trough you will be asked to submit your name and number again with us to verify we have the correct phone number to add to our list of teams. At 12:00 sharp we will cut off any submissions after that point.  At least one team member must be present to receive your winnings.  Pictures do not need to be submitted via text but will be requested for verification if your team is potentially a winner for the event.

We will be tracking every anglers fish they submit through the year individually. This means each team can submit a total of 5 fish. 5 fish per angler will be logged on their personal track record for the year. We will take the top 5 fish from your teams total entered fish for the days tournament.  (The reason for tracking everyone's fish individually is for our Decker angler of the year trophy that we will be handing out at the end of each year.)

The following picture is an example to follow when submitting your fish for the tournament.

The following picture is an example to follow when submitting your fish for the tournament.

FIRST PLACE: 60% of total entry fee

SECOND PLACE: Will be paid out if there is more than 5 teams

THIRD PLACE: Will be paid out if there is more than 10 teams

(Additional spots will be paid out with additional team participation in intervals of 5.)

We collect a $10 big bass buy in that is mandatory to participate in the tournament. This $10 entry from each team goes towards a pot that will grow throughout the year. Each quarter of the year we will pull the largest weight over 7 lb that has been wade in for big bass. The heaviest will take that quarters pot. The pot will reset after that.

Kayaks will need to bring in your big bass to weigh in at the time of catch to avoid any fish death. (If you need assistance with bringing in your fish you can call 512-758-9205 or 512-970-2624 to request a pick up.)

Big Bass challenge current weight to beat is: 7lb. (anything over this can be wade in.)

The hawg through you receive from us will have a number on it. You will need to lay your fish on the trough with the mouth closed and tail flat. The tail can be manipulated to your liking for the picture. (Fingers open on the tail to avoid any questions of altering size.)
At this point you will need to take a picture using your phone or other camera device that can be reviewed there at the lake that shows the length and the number on the trough. (If marks need to be made on the troughs to create an accurate photo please use a black permanent marker to make these lines. If the lines you make hinder the photos accuracy this will disqualify your entry so please take note of the marks you place on the trough.)

Note: if there is a picture that we can not clearly see the length and number we hold the right to disqualify the fish. You will be allowed one picture submitted per fish. If there is any speculation of cheating or double entry on one fish your team will be disqualified and depending on the situation will not be allowed to participate in upcoming events.
